FOSIS Student Hijab Committee
January 17, 2009History
We are a student committee set up by students for students. We were initially set up in reaction to the Hijab situation in Gory. So we read the papers and kept up to date with what was going on which includes interview with the Irish Independent
· Article printed on the front page of the Irish Times weekend review
· RTE Radio1 – Spectrum
However, most of the sisters were away for the summer we didn’t take that much action after that. We subsequently monitored the media for a while – no longer such a big issue
Mission
We want a future in which we are integrated, we simply want to make the hijabi girl an ordinary, run of the mill component of Irish society.
Aims and Objectives
To promote awareness about the hijab and NOT to make it an issue
· To have a modern outlook
· We want more integration – we want to show that Hijabi girls can not only take part in Irish society
· We want to make the hijab seen in places it hasn’t been seen before.
· So we have decided to take a different route in order to achieve our aims and objectives
· No conferences
· We want to get involved with Irish community itself
Salam Aleykoum.
My name is Amal Feisal, i’m 20 years old, i lived in Switzerland for 18 years and now i moved to Los Angeles. I come frome Ethiopia- India- Yemen.
I Wear Hijjab since i’m 15.
I want to know if you are looking for some hijjab models, of if you know an agency wich is lookig for a model.
I want to be a model, beacause i want to communicate the idea that there is fashion for women who wear the hijab, and chic clothes and hijab styles which are also respectable.
I love creating some new Hijjab style and making regular clothes hijab friendly.
I don’t know if you can help me, but i hope you will.
Thank you for reading my e-mail.
Barakallahoufikoum
Wa salamou alykoum
